A Love Story Across All Times

One of the other things I bought this weekend besides my super cute new Old Navy dress was the novel A Time Traveler's Wife. After seeing a few previews for the movie that is coming out next month I figured this would be a great read. It definitely has a bit of The Notebook vibe to it which is another book AND movie that I loved...then again it could be because Rachel McAdams stars in both. I asked my friend April what she thought of the book because she's a big reader so I value her opinion. She said that she really enjoyed it and it picks up a bit more in the middle.

Anywho I started reading the book on Sunday and I'm a little over a 100 pages in. So far I'm really enjoying it and I'm excited to see what happens, though after watching the previews I already have a decent idea of where the story is headed. I must admit it's a bit hard to follow the shifts in narration because it will jump from one character speaking in the first person to another character speaking in the first person, not to mention the jumps in the timeline.

My goal is to finish the book before the movie comes out in a couple weeks because I really do want to go see it. I just hope they don't completely change the ending around like they did in The Devil Wears Prada and My Sister's Keeper.

Check out the trailer. I suspect I will need to sneak in a box or two of tissues with me into the movie theater. God I love a good Love Story!

Totally need tissues. I hope they don't change too much. I haven't read My Sister's Keeper, but I've owned it for years. I did hear how they changed the ending and couldn't believe it. Did you see the movie? I found the style difficult to get into with the narration, changes in points of view, and short chapters, but once I got settled in, I flew through the second half of the book (and a box of tissues). Enjoy!
