Celebrations Continue

Kristian's birthday yesterday was a success. I woke up early to make him breakfast in bed (lucky bastard...I hope he doesn't expect this continue after we're married) and then took him out for a sushi dinner (his fav.) followed by the homemade carrot cake I made him which included candles and me singing (again, he's a lucky bastard).

I ended up telling him about the surprise trip to the Outerbanks on Monday night which was a good thing because he needed time to buy his NC fishing license, borrow his buddy's camera (since my is broken) and figure out everything he needs to take. He's so excited it's really cute. I think he's more excited to go to OBX for two days then he was to go to Jamaica!

The plan is to pack up the car after work including a cooler full of snacks, grab a few hours of sleep and then hit the road around 2-3am. He will be chugging Red Bull and blasting Led Zeppelin to stay awake while I will be peacefully snoozing shotgun with my ear plugs in. We should arrive around 7am and setup on the beach using a tarp off of the back of his 4 Runner to shield us from any of the expected rain. We'll eventually make our way to the hotel to check in, shower and grab dinner and be up again early Sunday to fish for a few hours before coming home.

I must admit that spending the weekend watching him fish is not quite as exciting for me as it is him but he's so happy that I can't help but be a little pumped up. Plus I'm bringing my IPOD and plenty of reading material to occupy me. It should be a good trip.

Honey, I've missed you! I hate that I've missed so much but how great to hear all that you've done in the past week!

Kristian IS such a lucky, lucky man. You two will have the best time this weekend!

And your previous posts...love that pic of you two! And how crazy are all those "must have" items - I'm pretty sure your marriage will be just as perfect without them :) Oh...but one Christmas I received a Cuisinart Waffle Maker from my boss and it's become our Christmas breakfast tradition...I do it throught the year too but it's our lil made up tradition :) Oh and we have an ice cream maker that I was so addicted to using for like 6 months...yeah, that was about 3 years ago. And so excited your honeymoon is all settled :)
