21 Months- 9/30/13

Weight/Length- Thanks to a last minute trip to the doctors on Friday we actually know this- weight = 30.6 lbs and height = 33.5"

Eating- Still picky and not eating as much during meals. You seem to prefer to snack throughout the day which I'm trying to keep to a minimum. Like most toddler, one day you will love something and the next day you will hate it. But you still love fruits, you will always eat fruit.

Sleep- You sleep great through the night but still waking up between 6-6:15am most days.

Clothes- Still 18 and 24 months.

Diapers- Size 5 both daytime and overnight.

Appearance- Hair is still very blond and we got it cut again. Your hair is very thick and grows quickly. Eyes are still a green/grey combo. Your eyes always look brown from a distance and in pictures, I can never seem to get a good shot of your eye color in pictures.

Personality- You are becoming a lot more outgoing especially in public, you always say hi to people when we are out. You are still constantly running around and playing and getting into mischief and the tantrums have been ramping up when you don't get your way. You also seem to prefer routine and consistency like your mother and get upset if we don't do something we always do. You are becoming much more independent, wanting to do everything yourself and help us do things.

Likes-
-Still OBSESSED with school buses and fire trucks and cars. You always spot them when we are in the car and yell out "Bus" or "Truck"
-Playing outside with Zachary and Jordynn. You would stay out there all night if we let you.
-Watching videos on the iPad.
-Visiting with both of your nana's and your papa.
-Stroller walks and the park

Milestones-
-First trip to the zoo
-First sleepover at Nana's house
-Attended first birthday party for another child
-Saying more two and three word phrases
-Recognizing and saying more animals
-Can recognize and say A,B,C
-Can repeat almost any word we say
-Can say your aunt and uncles names as well as some cousins
-Can say touchdown while raising both arms up.
-Can help sing and do hand motions for The Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle Twinkle Little Start and Itsy Bitsy Spider

New words/phrases that you say regularly and in the right context:
-"Sit Mama"
-"Out Mama"
-"I got Mow" (when you are pushing your mower)
-"All Done"
-"Bye Dada Boat"
-"Big Truck"
-"Mama car"
-"Whoa" (when you see a big truck or school bus)
-"Pop-up Book"
-"Pirate" and "Arrgh"
-Michael, Chell (for Michelle), Joe, Carleigh, Madison and Matt (all family members)
-Getting very close to saying "I love you" so we can actually understand it.

Five on Friday

1. I'm SO excited because I get to see THIS awesome chick next weekend and rub her cute little Twinks filled belly. We are meeting up for lunch before she has to go to a wedding in my area. I can't wait for out little guys to finally meet in person!

2. My husband just planned a 3 day hunting trip with one of my vendors from work. They have never met in person but they are both hunting fanatics and my vendor has a place on the Eastern Shore which is a great hunting spot and said my husband could go down there with him to hunt next month. Kristian is like a giddy little boy.

3. We've been talking about taking Hunter to a really popular pumpkin patch/farm in our area this October. The only downside is that it's pretty pricey to get into HOWEVER, we found out our nephew got a part-time job there for the fall and can get us in free! Score!!

4. I'm really excited for Sunday night premieres- Once Upon A Time and Revenge. Oh and I'm counting down until next Thursday's premiere of Scandal! LOVE that show!

5. I finally cancelled my membership to my massage place. It was getting really hard to find the time each month to go plus I wanted to save the money. I have one month to use up all the paid for massages that I still have on my account. Which is four! I really don't think I will have time to fit in four massages, my weekends are booking up fast! #firstworldproblems

New Neighbor New Friend

I've made it no secret that I've had a tough time finding some local mommy friends to hang out with, hell they don't even need to be mommies, it just makes it easier if they have a kid that can play with my kid while we hang out. Pretty much all of my close friends live far away with the closest being an hours drive away. So yeah, not really convenient.

I tried the MOPS things and just didn't feel really comfortable and I'm not a fan of having to go to meetings on weeknights. Most of the meetup.com stuff is for weekdays when I'm at work. So it's been tough. I keep hoping my husbands best friend will finally start dating a girl I like but alas that hasn't happened yet.

However, I do think I may have finally made a new friend, one that happens to live 4 houses down on the same street as me and who ALSO has a daughter that is one month younger than Hunter! Score right!

She and her husband just moved in a month or so ago and we met them about two weeks ago when we were outside with Hunter and they were coming back from a stroller jog with their daughter. There is another little boy that is a year older than Hunter that lives on our street who he loves to play with and we've gotten to know his mom and grandparents (they all live together). We all get along and the boys love to play outside together so when we saw there was another toddler on the street we thought it was great, the boys could add a little girl to the mix.

Hunter and little Miss Jordynn get along really well. It's funny how different little girls are, she's much calmer and reserved and doesn't run around like a maniac like my son or his little buddy. They are rough and tumble and she likes to play nicely with the toys outside and observe the wild boys. But Hunter is very good with her. He doesn't mind sharing and even pushed her around on her little push bike. They flirt. It's adorable. When I asked him one night if he liked Jordynn he literally blew a kiss!

The best part is that her mom and I have hit it off and have no problem hanging out and talking while the kids play. She even let me come and see the inside of her house, which they are currently renting, because the owner renovated most of it and I wanted some ideas. It was nice seeing what my house could look like if I had enough money to redo it. Also, I was a bit jealous with how clean it was! And it wasn't like she cleaned in anticipation of me coming over since I just surprised her with the request. I immediately went home and went on a cleaning frenzy while Hunter napped!

Anyways, we've already discussed taking the kids on walks together and hanging out and having some drinks once the little ones go to bed. Since her husband is at work a lot and mine is gone most Saturdays hunting it will be nice to have another mom to do stuff with and a friend for Hunter to play with since I know he gets bored with me.

SWW

Happy SO What Wednesday!

This week I'm saying So What if:

-I usually get a Starbucks drink on my way to work everyday even though we have a Keurig at work. None of the options taste nearly as good as what I get at the Bucks.

-I'm dreading it getting dark earlier for the simple fact that one of the only ways to keep Hunter happy during his daily 6pm meltdown is to let him play outside before dinner and that can't happen once it gets dark and cold. And he won't understand why we can't go outside when I get home from work like always.

-I sort of love daycare drop-off because it's the time of day when my child is the most affectionate and clingy with me. When we're at home he's too busy running around and playing to give mama hugs and kisses but daycare drop-off he can't get enough hugs and kisses from me.

-I get jealous when he cuddles more with Kristian than with me. #daddysboy

-I ordered two dresses to choose from for our family photos and told myself I would return whichever one I decided not to use for the pictures. I decided to keep both. Oh and I may not wear either for the photos.

-I watched the Emmy's mainly to see what everyone is wearing. I don't watch most of the shows nominated so I definitely don't watch for that reason. I do the same with the Oscars.

-My husband and I had to come to a compromise on his "hunting beard". He grows one every fall and refuses to shave until he gets a deer which is all fine and good but I told him I don't want him looking all Duck Dynasty for our family photos in a couple weeks. So he agreed to trim the beard down so it's more like heavy stubble, which I actually like, rather than shave it completely. #lifeasahunterswife
-I'm sick to death of seeing Miley's face, tongue and boobs.

Birthday Party, Sleepover and More proof that I'm not meant to co-sleep

We had a very busy and fun filled weekend that included a birthday party and a first time sleepover at Nana's (my mom's) house.

On Saturday afternoon we drove an hour up to MD to celebrate the 3rd birthday of one of my dearest friends little boy. Hunter had the best time playing at her house with all of the birthday boy's toys. I think it was like Disneyland for him. He didn't really socialize much with the other kids because he just wanted to play with everything.

"Really mom? A picture? I'm trying to play here"

He was very well behaved and after 2 1/2 hours we headed out and made the 20 minute drive up to my mom's house. Since we were so close to her house already and because Kristian was going to be out late hunting we decided to just head to Nana's house for a sleepover.

My mom was thrilled to have her favorite little boy at her house (and I'm assuming happy to see me as well) and he had a blast running around her place and playing with all the toys she had bought him.

Rolling a ball back and forth. Also, he loves stacking all his trucks and buses on top of each other.

He was up at bit later than normal since we wanted him to have a few hours to play with grandma and eat a decent dinner (in addition to all the snacks from the party). He finally crashed in my mom's bed around 9pm without a fight or any issues and slept straight through until 7am.

While Hunter slept great, I did not. I decided to sleep in the bed with him while my mom crashed in the living room. My child is apparently a bed hog. He was spread out all over the bed, at one point laying horizontally across it, leaving me very little room. So yeah, I didn't sleep much and it just reinforced why we don't co-sleep. I have a hard enough time sharing a bed with a my husband, I can't imagine having a squirmy, bed-hogging toddler in there with us as well.

The next morning we woke up and Hunter played/tormented my mom's cat while she cooked us a fabulous breakfast.

Hunter did so well at both the party and Nana's house and it was a great little trip for he and I. I know Kristian also enjoyed having the house to himself for a night and not being woken up at 6am by a toddler so it was a win/win and we will probably do it again when Kristian goes on his out of town hunting trip later this fall.

Five on Friday

Happy Friday!

This week has just dragged. And I have a fairly busy weekend ahead.

1. As I mentioned on Wednesday daycare has lost two of Hunters shirts. They told me today that if they don't find them by Monday they would reimburse us the cost (i.e. take it off of our tuition fee). I'm still annoyed but at least they are doing something to rectify the situation. The teacher apologized over and over and swore it wouldn't happen again. We'll see.

2. Yesterday I went to Target to buy a birthday present for my friends son's 3rd birthday party tomorrow. I also bought a few baby clothes since she's due to have a little girl next month. I know people always say that girl clothes are cuter than boy clothes, and maybe it was just the Target I went to, but I wasn't impressed. I actually had a tough time finding something I liked. Now the boy clothes I could have shopped for all day. Maybe I'm just used to it but I love boy clothes.

3. Speaking of lost items, I ordered a pair of boots from Target a few weeks ago, I received an email saying they delivered on Saturday. Well I have everything sent to my work and nothing was there. I called Target and the lady told me that the delivered meant UPS delivered to the post office that would actually be delivering it to me and I should get it in ANOTHER 5-10 days. I've never heard of this before.  I then get an email asking me to review the product which leads me to believe that they think I should have it already as well? I'm giving it until next week and then I will call again and ask for a refund.

4. I think I've figured out why Hunter has been waking up so early lately. Every morning the bus comes to pick up the high schoolers around 6-6:15am and we can always hear the Beep Beep from it. Even though Hunter has a noise machine in his room I know he hears the Beep Beep and it wakes him up. The kid is OBSESSED with buses and seems to have supersonic hearing for the beeps. Whenever I go into his room his first word is "bus".

5. One of the houses a few doors up just sold and if they got the price they were asking then that means good things for our home value. The other house was asking $50K more than we paid (we bought it as a foreclosure, hence the good deal) and with our updates and better view of the water I think we could get even more than they got. Not that we are planning on selling anytime soon but it's good to know.

Happy Wednesday!

Linking up with Shannon for another round of So What Wednesday!

This week I'm saying So What if:

-I'm really annoyed that daycare has seemingly lost two of Hunters shirts. Both Friday and Monday he needed to have his shirt changed after lunch but they can't find either of the shirts he was originally wearing and they aren't in his bin. It's really unacceptable to lose his clothes and if they don't find them today I'm going to talk to the Director about it.

-If I was shocked to hear about another friend that is pregnant with twins! This time it's one of my best friends from high school who already has a 4 and 2 year old. She always wanted a big family so now she's getting two for one! Kristian is now a bit scared to touch me, he seems to think twins are contagious.

-Most mornings I spend 15-20 minutes curling my hair even though inevitably all the curls fall out by the time I get to work.

-Most days I leave work about 10 minutes early, I have an hour long commute that only gets worse the later I leave, plus I usually get to work about 10 minutes early so it all balances out.

-I find it kind of hysterical that Hunter gets upset anytime he sees me and Kristian hugging or being affectionate, even holding hands! He will start to fuss and come over and literally try to push me away from him like he's jealous. He'll even say "no mama" or "mama out". Not sure if it's because he's jealous of Kristian touching me or vice versa. I think he just doesn't want a sibling, talk about a
c-block!

-I was thrilled to discover that Hunter still fits into some of his winter clothes from last year which should help save me a bit of money...who am I kidding? Like I won't buy him new clothes anyway.

-There aren't any new fall shows debuting that I'm excited about watching. I'll probably just stick to all my usual stuff, my t.v. schedule is pretty booked as it is, so I don't need to add anymore shows to my lineup.

Five on Friday

I feel like all I've done this week is post lists so why stop now?

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

1. What is it about Fall that makes me want to clothes shop? It's not like I don't already own plenty of fall/winter clothes, scarves and boots yet I continue to want to buy more. I just told myself earlier this week I wouldn't buy anything else for a while THEN I get an email about super cash that I need to redeem at Old Navy and it would be a shame to let that go to waste especially when I needed some black skinny jeans. Sigh.

2. Tomorrow marks the one day a year when our house is divided (well this and every Presidential election)....the day that my school and Kristian's school play each other in football. Now the question is what to dress Hunter in since he has shirts for both schools. Maybe he'll just have to change at halftime. I should note that Hunter can actually say "Pirate" (my school mascot) but not "Hokie" (Kristian's school mascot) so I win.

3. While everyone else is craving all things pumpkin I'm craving all things apple. Apple cider, apple pies, apple donuts. I want it all.

4. I'm almost done making a photobook of our trip to the Caymans. I love making photobooks and wish I could do it for a living. My mother-in-law also loves making photobooks and does a great job so maybe we could start our own business? With that said I haven't started Hunter's 2 year book and probably won't until after his birthday.

5. My mom has been on vacation in Mexico all week and I can't wait for her to get back. I miss talking to her and giving her all of the Hunter updates. I know Hunter misses his nana as well since he mentions her multiple times a day.

I don't understand...

-- The people that buy their babies/children primarily monogrammed/personalized clothing. I understand buying a shirt here or there for a special occasion or holiday but I've seen people on IG that seem to only dress their kids in monogrammed clothing. It seems like such a waste of money! You can't use it for any potential siblings or really even sell or donate it (especially if it's initials) so what do they do with everything?

-- The people that buy MULTIPLE Starbucks drinks EVERYDAY! Not only does that much caffeine seem unhealthy but I can't get over how much money they must be spending. I remember a guy at my old job always had multiple Starbucks cups on his desk everyday.

-- The people that don't like pets. I can understand why someone may not be able to have a pet (allergies, not allowed in a rental, expense etc) but there are people in the world that just don't like animals/pets in general. I don't get that. Our pets bring SO much joy and love into our life I can't imagine not having them or at the very least liking them. I know some people prefer dogs to cats or vice versa but to just not like either is strange to me. I don't trust those people.

-- The people that are always posting vague updates on Facebook simply trolling for attention. Ex: "Why does life always have to be so hard?"

-- The people that post multiple selfies a day EVERYday. Posting one "OOTD" photo a day is fine (I guess) but I don't want to see 5 pictures of you in a bathroom everytime I open my feed.

-- The people (i.e. celebrities) that buy 20,000 sq. ft. homes, typically for only one or two people to live in. Hell even if you had 2 or 3 kids why do you need a house that big? You probably won't even see half of the rooms most of the time. Not to mention the expense to decorate and maintain such a large home.

SWW

Linking up again this week with Shannon for SO What Wednesday!

This week I'm saying So What If:

-I let my son watch videos on the iPad while I get dressed in the mornings. It's pretty much the only way to keep him still and calm so I can get dressed.

-I was thrilled when Kristian decided to stay home and watch the Redskins game Monday night rather than go hunting after work. I always prefer him to be home as opposed to hunting.

-I wish I could look at the budgets of some of these stay at home moms who blog/IG that are always buying new clothes for themselve and their kids or home decor or Starbucks everyday. How do they do all that on one income? Kristian and I both work and make good money and we still can't afford some of the stuff I see some of these women buying all the time.

-I was planning to do something really small for Hunter's birthday this year but after finding so many great ideas on Pinterest (aka the Devil) for a school bus themed party I now want to go all out again. Hopefully Kristian can reel me in from the madness.

-I wish I had a crystal ball and could see into the future to know if we will definitely have another child and if that child will be a boy because I have SO many of Hunters old clothes that I'm keeping just in case and I would LOVE to get rid of them so long as I knew I wouldn't need them again.

-I'm in the worst mood thanks to a certain visitor that is due this week. Seriously, I'm going back and forth between wanting to punch the wall and wanting to burst into tears. I should probably warn my husband to keep his distance for a few days.

End of Summer Beach Trip

We were finally able to make it back down to my in-laws beach house this past weekend. With so much going on this summer this was only the second trip we've been able to make but the weather was perfect and I'm so glad we were finally able to get down there again before the fall weather truly hits.

We left early Saturday morning and it was an easy 2 hour drive. Hunter napped for about half the trip and just sat quietly the rest of the way. He was such a good boy! This was our first real road trip in the new car and it's SO much nicer to travel in. We had plenty of room in the back for everything including the stroller and several of Hunter's push toys that he uses daily.

We arrived around 10am and it wasn't long before Hunter was checking out the sand and water with "Nana". **My mother-in-law hates being called Nana, she thinks it sounds old, we've tried getting Hunter to call her Grandma or MiMi but he keeps going back to Nana for some reason (he also calls my mom Nana). So my MIL just laughs now. Hunter is in charge.

I don't know how much Hunter remembers of our trip down for the 4th of July but he was definitely fascinated by everything and had a ball throwing the rocks into the water.

Moxie's favorite thing to do is dig massive holes in the sand. I think the beach house is her version of Disney Land.

Normally Hunter doesn't nap or sleep well at the beach house but he actually had a great nap despite having slept in the car. I guess we were able to wear him out the first few hours we were there. My MIL had to lay down with him until he fell asleep but once he did he was out for 2 1/2 hours. I even managed a quick nap on the couch myself while the boys watched football.

My MIL said this was her favorite moment of the whole weekend. Post nap snuggles. He sat like this for probably 10 minutes and she was in Heaven. She said it reminded her of holding my husband when he was a baby.

Late afternoon Kristian and his dad decided to take the boat out and fish. We debated taking Hunter out but we weren't sure of his reaction and the boys really wanted to spend some time fishing so we decided to pass on the trip. But we did let him check out PaPa's boat before they left. He was completely fascinated by it and all the buttons.

Hunter is now the 4th Generation of men in the family to be on that boat.

After the boat left Hunter kept saying "Bye Bye Dada Boat". And continued to refer to it as "dada's boat" everytime he saw it.

While the boys fished we took Hunter on a walk around the neighborhood and he got to meet some of his grandparents neighbors. My MIL said she loved showing him off.

That evening we ate dinner and watched football. Hunter can now lift his arms and say "Touchdown" so he's ready for football season. In the past he's never slept well but this weekend, he slept great, he went to bed without any issues and slept fine throughout the night. He slept on a crib sized mattress (minus the actual crib) on the floor between two full beds in one of the bedrooms. Then Kristian and I each slept in one of the beds on either side so if he did decide to climb on one of the beds in the middle of the night we would be there. Even though he went to bed about 45 minutes later than normal he still woke up at 6:30am. Guess he was excited to play with his grandparents again.

Everyone thinks Hunter looks like his Grandpa and I tend to agree.

One benefit of getting up early is the beautiful sunrise over the water. It's so peaceful early in the morning. Definitely one of the best times to be there.

Hunter and Nana once again checked out the sand and rocks and even watched as the ducks came swimming to shore.

We left around 10am and had another easy drive home. Hunter and I both napped a bit in the car and we spent the rest of Sunday grocery shopping, watching football and just hanging out.

I really think Hunter loves the beach house and I think next summer he'll get even more enjoyment out of going down there.

Five on Friday

T.G.I to the freakin F

Why do short weeks always seem so long?

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

Here are the 5 things on my mind this Friday:

-I'm thrilled that my alma mater ECU has won it's first two football games! Next week they play my husband's alma mater VA Tech. Typically they lose this game but I actually feel confident this year and Kristian is actually worried. Love it!

-I think we've decided on Hunter's Halloween costume this year but I'm keeping it under wraps for now because...well it's more fun that way. I will give two clues- it's not store bought and like last year our dog Moxie will have a costume that corresponds with Hunters costume.

-This morning, for the first time, I actually used the gas rewards I had earned from our grocery store when filling up and saved $.50/gallon! Not sure why I haven't done this before (yes I do, laziness) but now that I drive an SUV I need to save money on gas anyway I can.

-I'm excited for Fall shows to start back up, especially Scandal (favorite show), Revenge (started to suck but the finale drew me back in) and Glee (I'm interested to see how they will deal with Corey/Finn's death).

-Funny story- we always ask Hunter what sound something makes ex: "What sound does a dog make?" and the other night Kristian asked him "What sound does mama make" and his response was to put his finger to his mouth and say "Shhhh". So apparently I do that a lot...not that he ever listens to me.

Sleep

My child is a good sleeper. I'm not saying that to be all braggy braggy but to preface this post. Hunter sleeps through the night and has been consistently for a while now. Sure he may wake up once and need to be tucked back in but it's rare. My biggest complaint is that he typically wakes up between 6-6:30am which basically sucks on the weekend.

So why am I writing about sleep? Well, because despite the fact that my child sleeps through the night I do not. From basically the moment I got pregnant I haven't been able to sleep well. During pregnancy it was due to needing multiple bathroom trips and not being comfortable. Then of course came many, many months of being woken up multiple times by my crying child. But now? Now I just can't for the life of me sleep well.

I usually go to bed around 10pm and wake up at 6am (during the week). So I should be getting 8 solid hours of sleep. When you add up all the time I'm actually asleep for I would say I get maybe 4-5 hours if I'm lucky. I have no trouble falling asleep but inevitably I wake up or am woken up by something/someone a couple hours later, which then results in tossing and turning for several hours before finally falling back to sleep about an hour or so before my alarm goes off.

I seem to almost always be awake from around 1-3am. I hate the hours of 1-3am. And when I say awake I mean I feel like I could get up and clean the whole house or run a marathon. I'm WIDE awake. It doesn't help that since becoming a mother I've become the lightest sleeper on the planet. Every little noise seems to either wake me up or keep me awake. I even use a noise machine to help drown out other sounds but it doesn't help much. So the fact that my husband has a tendency to snore, our cat is like a vampire that sleeps all day and wanders the house all night AND that we have a wiggly little dachshund sharing our bed does not help matters. It seems there is always something or someone preventing me from getting sleep.

I guess one perk is that the thought of having another baby and going through the newborn up all night phase doesn't really scare me since I only sleep in 2-3 hour increments on my own as it is. I'm not really sure what to do about it. I've tried Benedryl which is hit or miss. Sometimes it will knock me out but other times it has the opposite effect and keeps me awake. And I don't really want to take Benedryl or NyQuil every night to sleep. I don't want to drink tea or even wine before bed because then I will be up all night peeing (I have the smallest bladder ever which also doesn't help).

So if anyone has any suggestions for helping me sleep, that would be great. Some people have recommended taking Melatonin and it's something I plan to look into. We've tried fixing Kristian's snoring with Breathe Right Nose strips, but those are also hit or miss.

Does anyone else have this problem? My crankiness is hitting an all time high and neither my husband or I are really happy about the situation.

Happy Wednesday!

Linking up with Shannon for So What Wednesday!

This week I'm saying So What if:

-I'm THRILLED we were finally able to sell my old car. We sold it ourselves via Craig's List and got $2K more than what Carmax offered us. We will be using the money to replenish our savings and the amount we took out for the down payment on the new car. I'm also happy we stuck to our guns about the price and didn't accept any of the low ball offers we got. It helped that we weren't in a rush to sell it. It went to a very nice couple who gave it to their 16 year old daughter. It's a perfect first car to have.

-I got a bit sad after they drove off in my old car. After all it's the car we brought Hunter home from the hospital in. I get way too sentimental over inanimate objects.

-I'm cancelling my membership to our local massage place. Not only do I need to save the money but it's actually hard to find a free hour on the weekends to go once a month. Plus I found out my favorite masseuse is no longer working weekends so I don't really want to go anymore.

-I'm already annoyed with Kristian going hunting and he's only gone once so far this season. Monday reminded me how much I hate when he's gone all day on Saturdays. It's going to be a long hunting season.

-I booked our fall family photo session and I'm stressing about what we should all wear. I always stress way too much over this. It should be interesting to see if we get any decent ones with a wild toddler who hates having his picture taken.

-We finally hung up all the pictures frames in our dining room to create our new gallery wall. It only took us almost a year of the frames collecting dust on the floor.

-If the first word my child says every morning when he wakes up is "Bus" seriously the kid is obsessed with school buses and now that school is back in session we see a ton of them on the way to daycare. He's constantly shouting "BUS" and "BEEP BEEP" from the backseat the whole way there.

Labor Day Sans Pictures

We didn't do anything crazy or exciting for Labor Day weekend, the only reason I really even want to write about it is so I can remember the few things we did do since I think I took maybe two pictures the whole weekend.

-Friday-- got out of work early and we took a family walk, including the dog and the cat (who is tied to a leash and stays in the bottom of the stroller), to the park to try to wear Hunter out in the hopes he would sleep late Saturday morning. It didn't work.

-Saturday -- quick trip to Walmart for some odds and ends, followed by a trip to the pool, 2 1/2 hour nap (for Hunter, not us), then over to my in-laws house for dinner and football watching. Unfortunately for my husband VA Tech was crushed by Alabama. Fortunately for me ECU won their game. And I think Hunter wore his grandma out from having to chase him all over the house and yard.

-Sunday -- family trip up to MD to have lunch with my mom. Hunter ate a shocking amount of food but was pretty well behaved in the restaurant.

-Monday -- Kristian ditched us to go hunting with his dad and uncle, so Hunter and I went to the grocery store together, and then to the park after naptime. We played with his water table and pretty much every toy in his toy box. I was reminded how exhausting SAHM's have it during the day but I loved getting the extra time with my dude.

And now it's Tuesday and I'm hoping this 4 day work week goes by quickly.

Also, head on over to Kristen's blog and congratulate her on her very exciting and surprising news. Sorry I had to be so vague in my SWW post last week, THIS was the happy news that caused me not to be able to concentrate all day at work after finding out. So happy it's now out in the open!
