Day 1

It's Jan. 1st the start of another year. Most people spend this time reflecting on the past year and making resolutions for the upcoming year. For us 2013 was a good year. Every year since 2008 we've had at least one major life change and I had anticipated a pretty calm 2013 and for the most part that's what we got. We did take a wonderful trip to the Cayman Islands for my sister-in-laws wedding, we bought a new car and I got a job promotion and raise. But nothing as major as years past which included getting married, buying a house and having a baby.

Looking ahead to 2014 I have the same resolutions I always have, the typical- eat better, budget better, get more organized yadda yadda yadda. And I do intend to try to work towards improving in those areas. But mainly I just want to continue to be the best wife, mother and friend I can be. I want to focus on my little family. We are really enjoying the age Hunter is in right now and watching him learn new tricks everyday. We are still discussing a possible baby #2 and I think this year we will hopefully make a decision one way or another as to whether or not we want to be one and done or try for another.

I haven't had too much to complain about the past few years. Like everyone we've had our good times and bad but overall things have been pretty good and my biggest wish for this year is that we continue with that trend. Having more ups than downs, more smiles than tears. The details aren't that important.

Last night for the 6th time I rang in the New Year with the love of my life. Even though we didn't get dressed up or go out there is no where else I would have rather been then with him while our baby boy slept upstairs. I can't wait to see what this new year has in store for us.

Go, you! I'm a couple of posts behind on my blog. I am caught up on reading all my blogs though so I'm sure there's a correlation there somehow.

We were always going to have 2 children if things worked out. WAY back when we got married, I kept an option for a third, but we got a late start and then had no motivation for a second because we enjoyed the first so much. I think we'd be happy with one, but we like to hope that the siblings will be there for each other for support when we get older or are gone. I don't expect them to be best friends, but I'd like to foster a friendly relationship (the different genders and 6 years may make best friends a stretch).

Happy New Year!
