Fondue is a DO

**Today marks our 2 months anniversary! I promise to try to wrap up the wedding recaps soon**

This past Saturday we decided to make a trip to Crate and Barrel to use some of the gift cards we got for the wedding. There was one item in particular on our C&B registry that Kristian REALLY REALLY wanted and of course we didn't receive. Probably because the one item he really wanted was a $200 knife. Yes $200 for ONE knife, not a whole set. I told him when we registered for it that I highly doubted anyone would buy it for us and I was right (per usual).

Well I knew how much he wanted it and since he is the one that does a majority of the cooking and 98% of all chopping I agreed to spend our gift cards on the knife. He turned into a giddy little boy and kept thanking me. Since they didn't have any in stock in the store we had to go home and order it online and it arrived yesterday. I'll tell ya the thing scares me to death and I'm just waiting for when I have to drive him to the hospital because he's cut off his finger. He spent all night cutting things...carrots are his favorite.

Here's the knife. Apparently it's awesome. To me a knife is a knife so I'll take his word for it.

Since we still had some money left to spend after agreeing to the knife Kristian said we could get something I really wanted and the something I wanted was a fondue set! HELLO melted cheese...melted chocolate?! What's better than that?!

Kristian has never fondued but I promised him he would love it. Granted it's not something we'll use everyday but I think it's a fun gift and will be great when we have company. Once again they didn't have the one we wanted in stock so we had to order it. When it arrived yesterday we decided to go to the store to buy cheese, bread and steak for fonduing and it was awesome! It also came with a little recipe book which we plan to take advantage of. I think tonight we'll try out the chocolate. Nom Nom Nom

Yeah, our whole steak knife set was $200. It's silly how much some knives can cost but oh well. It is what it is...glad he got what he wanted :)

And though I have never done the fondue thing either and I don't think Mr Fix It is a big fan, I do have a mini crock pot that allows me to melt things like cheese and chocolate in it if I want to. I have used it to make my own chocolate covered strawberries and they were amazing! :)

That's nice he was able to get the knife he really wanted! How fun. Knives actually scare me too! Pampered Chef has this finger protector thing that I recently bought but have yet to try... It looks neat though.

I went to a Macy's registry event a few months back and the Wustoff Rep. was there demonstrating things, chopping things up, etc. and I asked him if he wouldn't mind giving me tips and tell me how to properly hold and cut with a knife. He liked that I asked questions so he gave me a free pair of their Wustoff scissors! haha

Wow! $200 is a lot for one knife, but as long as he loves it, I think it's worth it. And I love fondue! We have a set at home that we love to use during the winter months.

You are one nice wife! I would have laughed at my hubby if he wanted a $200 knife. Then again, he doesn't cook....I suppose if he did I may have considered it.

Mmmmmm fondue. And you'll be able to chop all the things for it!

P.s. I love your recaps - keep them coming!
