Opinions Needed

I'm pale. Really pale. IcouldstarinTwilightasavampire kinda pale. Normally I don't mind this. Much. I've come to accept my paleness, the same way I've come to accept my small boobs. However the thought of my skintone blending in with my wedding dress doesn't exactly make me want to jump for joy.

I did the whole tanning bed thing in my younger years...hence the lovely wrinkles on my forehead. And since I'm not a fan of skin cancer I'm not planning to go the Jersery Shore route. I also doubt I'll get much face time with the actual sun before the wedding while I'm running around trying to finish my bazillion errands. So that leaves me with basically two options....lotion or spray tanning.

I've tried the lotion route before with Meh results. So I need your help. Spray Tanning...
Yay or Nay?

Keep in mind I really don't want to look like this on my wedding day:

I have done spray tanning before...it turned out good, but I didn't go too dark (you can choose your level).

I would give it a try a few weeks before your wedding (or more) just to see how your skin takes to it!

I did the spray tan thing... and came out looking like an ooompa loompa. BUT I would say do the spray tan, but have someone professionally spray you.. that way you dont have to worry about blotting yourself off... and missing areas (like i did). =)

I'm going to the cancer bed tonight.. I need some vitamin D. =(

Well I dont have much advice to offer you, but just want to say I COMPLETELY know how u feel! I've always felt self conscious cuz Im so pale. I've tried the tanning bed thing but nothing changes, and I would love to actually have some color before my wedding, but its highly doubtful. If I were you, I would try the spray tanning but do a test run a ways before the wedding and see what you think. Maybe even do it when u have a few days off in a row too just in case it does come out ooompa loompa-ish, you may not want to be seen anywhere for awhile!

I did spray tan once or twice and it worked pretty well. Definitly did not make me look orange, but everyone will take to it differently. You have plenty of time...try it now and see what happens.

I have heard that the spray tanning is actually really awesome! A girl I know did it and just wore some panties while the woman sprayed her. She said it was great and it did look natural! They will test an out of the way spot to make sure you like the color too!

I am also very, very fair, but the fake build-a-tan creams I’ve tried have always looked unnatural on me or irritated my skin. Plus, I guess I’m just used to my skin tone. I did choose an ivory gown with a pop of color, which warms up my tone a bit, but otherwise, I’ll be asking my stylist for advice about adding maybe a touch of bronzer for the wedding day. But since I never tan, either fake or real, I want to make sure I still look like myself.

You sound like me a year ago! I got married May 23, 2009. I'm also extremely white. And I also did the tanning-bed thing in high school. And I now have wrinkles on my forehead.

I found a good spray-tanner lady and totally did it for the wedding and loved it! I would try it out for a few months starting .. NOW. that way you can find the perfect tone/blend for your skin.

I've never tried spray tanning, so let me know your thoughts if you do it! I actually found a tanning lotion last year that I really liked (finally!). I'll have to go home and look, and I can tell you what it is.

i did spray tanning once when it first came out. i was inspired by jen aniston. at the time no one really knew how to use it, ahem like me, but i still liked it. my tan was dark and even for the most part.

i say YAY!

I think spray tanning has coming a long way. Give it a test run or two before the actual wedding.

I think give it a try a couple months before the day and see what you think of it.

I 100% support airbrush tans! I don't trust myself to the "self" spray tan machine thingys at the tanning salon...but, I have a girl airbrush tan me at least 9 or 10 times a year! A lot of nice salons have people who do this...or spas. It's incredibly natural looking and mine usually last at least 5 or 6 days, if not longer! :)

I think spray tanning would be your best bet. Most spray tans today do not turn orange. I only use EnvyTan products so I will recommend a couple of products for you that can help you. The first, spray tanning solution. If you are pale you will probably need a 5%, although you could possibly use an 8%. They have 2 separate solutions, Temptations which is a golden bronze (this will give you that just back from the beach look) and Envy Addict, which is like a mocha bronze. If your spray tanning technician doesn't use EnvyTan, you can always purchase a pint of solution and take it to the spray tanning technician and request that they use it. If you want to go the self tanning route, they offer 2 really good self tanners. Confidential, which is a self tanning lotion, and Lasting Envy which is a spray tan in a can. Both products offer great results, however, I prefer the ease of use with the Lasting Envy. I hope this information comes in handy. Enjoy married life!!!

I used to spray tan all of the time... no Ooompa Loompa look! I found the key, though, was to AVOID the spray tan booths. I found someone who actually sprayed the stuff on like I was being airbrushed. Better color, more even, more natural... more expensive but very much worth it.

i've never done it but I've heard mixed things! let us know how it turns out if you decide :) I'm pretty pale also, and something I've been doing lately is mixing self tanner with like cheapo lotion because I hated how streaky it was on its own...surprisingly I've really liked the results, maybe give that a try?

I owned my own beauty salon an got a girl to do spray tan...worst thing ever, dont do it, you are 10 times more beautiful pale than sprayed. My 2 cents.

Nay! Your beloved husband-to-be is going to love you pale as you are until the end of your lives. I think this tanning thing is gonna look superficial. I know you want to look great and I'm sure you WILL look great :)

I used Aveeno gradual tanner and it worked great and looked really natural I think. I posted some pics here. http://bonbonrose9.blogspot.com/2009/09/i-would-say-i-do-over-and-over-and-over.html

okay, i am a fan of pale so i would say you will be fine without...but if it really is a problem go in like asap for a test run and don't do a stand up spray tan do a really airbrushed expensive tan, they are amazing and can seriously contour muscles and make you look fabulous...but i don't trust the stand up ones :)

i attempted to spray tan once and never did it ever again. i turned orange. like really orange.

BUT, BUT, BUT... one of my besties (who is really pale) sprayed tan in the weeks preceding her wedding and she looked really good on her wedding day. tan - but not too tan - and definitely not orange!

i've heard some people swear by it and there are some good places. just try it out is my best advice.

the spray booths are a no-no... splurge and get the even coverage spray and it looks legit. i read that somewhere.
