The WTF of the day

I read this today on PerezHilton.com. I have to second his WTF sentiments!!
E! has ordered Bridalplasty, where brides compete in wedding-themed challenges to win extreme plastic surgery.

WTF?!

The woman will go head-to-head writing wedding vows and planning honeymoons. The winner of the challenge will receive a plastic surgery procedure from her "wish list." She goes into surgery immediately and the results are seen in the following episode.

The show's description states the brides risk "possibly walking away with nothing and losing [their] chance to be the perfect bride."

OMG! That is SO dark!

The last bride standing will get her "dream wedding," where she will reveal her new appearance to her loved ones.

"Viewers will witness his emotional and possibly shocked reaction as they stand at the altar and he lifts her veil to see her for the first time following her extreme plastic surgery," said E!.

The Swan surgeon Terry Dubrow will turn these ladies into clones while Shanna Moakler hosts and Giuliana Rancic executive produces.
Ew. Ew. Ew.

Listen I'm not gonna lie, would it have been nice to have a boob job to help fill out my wedding dress or maybe a little botox to get rid of my frown lines for my wedding. Sure. But Extreme plastic surgery which would probably make me look like a totally different person a la Heidi Montag?! No thank you!! After all Kristian fell in love with me as is. Yes I know brides want to look their best on their wedding days, I certainly did, but this is just ridiculous!! I feel bad for any woman who has such low self esteem that they would choose to go on such a show.

Will any of you be watching?

I will not be tuning in. IF you are getting married doesn't that generally mean that your soon to be spouse loves you for who you are not what you could be? This makes me want to cry.... not in a happy tears kind of way.

I am sure these women are beautiful already, why go under the knife?

I saw this on Perez as well and it totally made me sick to my stomach. I feel like it is sending the wrong message out. Like you said, we all want to look flawless on our big day, but the person we are marrying...he or she loves us, flaws and everything. That being said, I may just tune in here and there to see what it is about...though all plastic surgery shows kind of make me nauseous..I can't handle the graphic nature

I agree with you.. WTF?!?! I could also see a boob job or botox something minor but I don't want to look like frankenHeidi on my wedding day either! Yikes!!

Hell no!

I'm with you- would I love to have boobs for a day? Sure. Would I love to do something to make my thighs and tummy look they like did 10 years ago? For sure. But will I ACTUALLY do it? Unlikely. I feel bad that we live in a world where some people feel they HAVE to have plastic surgery to be beautiful. You said it pefect... your man fell in love with you... just the beautiful way you are.

Happy weekend!

Wow. That's wrong on so many levels. I remember when that Extreme Makeover show was on and at the reveal party, the woman looked so different her baby didn't recogize her and screamed when she tried to hold her. Some things just aren't meant to be changed...your face is one of them!

I wouldn't mind a boobie lift and shape though.... :)

My initial thought was the same as everyone else. I've revised, but I'll get to that in a minute. No matter what my ultimate opinion is, I still think capitalizing on this and filming is the lowest form of low.

The more I think about it, the more this could have a positive side, but without seeing the show (and I won't), I can't be positive. There are women who never believe they are beautiful even if they fall in love and have people believe they are beautiful. For these women, they may not want photographs taken of them on their wedding day and this would give them a large ego boost, but I would also hope the show provides counseling and mental assistance as well. During some of the plastic surgery shows, they count the chin lifts and nose jobs (or rather a combination of them) as major surgery and it does make such a difference - more enhancing than Frankenstein/Heidi Montag.

However, seeing as it's on the E! network, it'll probably exploit the women and be painful for everyone involved.

Ew I heard this yesterday on my way to work. The station I was listening to was talking about it on their morning program and everyone was sort of horrified by it and I have to agree. What has the world come to that people are THAT desperate to be on television?! Clearly the women participating in this show need some therapy, not surgery! I will most definitely NOT be tuning in. Yuck.

Oh man, that's just sad. How depressing. I love trashy reality shows, but that one I won't be watching.

Just started following you! :)

That is crazy! Why can't people just be proud of what they have? :-) I mean I understand if it's something like a nose job for a broken nose, etc. But rock what you got. I prob won't watch it . . . ok maybe just to see what they do lol

Insanity. Having any kind of surgery freaks me out.

But I'm a sucker for trash tv, so I'd probably watch it (that's bad isn't it ;o))
