Wed-cap: Dancing

Our reception didn't just consist of couples dancing to slow songs all night though admittedly the dance floor did get the most action during the slow songs, we had a few people really break it down during the more upbeat songs that the DJ played as well.

I'll admit the reception wasn't quite the dance party I had hoped or witnessed at other weddings. I think a lot of that was due to the crowd. A large majority of our guests were older family members. A good number of our friends weren't able to make it to the wedding for various reasons so I think that played a large part in the dance floor staying relatively calm. I think people were more interested in drinking and talking than getting their freak on. Kristian and I danced our asses off though and that was the main thing.

There were a few songs that the DJ played that really pumped up the crowd, though for the life of me I can't remember what they were. My photographers did a great job getting some pictures of some of the crazier moves displayed by my guests and especially by my new husband!

*My mom and her girlfriends imitating the Rockettes*

* Kristian's aunt with her twin boys*

*My brother and niece. My niece was all over the dance floor and she kept wanting to cut in and dance with me and Kristian all night. I think it's because she knew that was the best way to be in all the pictures*

*My sister-in-law and her aunt...they are only like 5 years apart in age and really good friends*

*Me and my new nephew...he has some sweet moves for an 11 year old*

*At one point two lines formed for everyone to dance down the middle of. That is my husband showing off his skillz. I love his twin cousins in the background who are perfectly in sync with their dance move*

*My sister in law showing that her brother isn't the only one with moves in the family*

*My mom has a bit of a cougar-ish crush on my friend JD and "reserved" him in advance for a dance at the wedding. JD is known for dancing with a "popped" collar at weddings. These few pictures are some of my favorites*

*Slightly disturbing to me. hahaha*

*Can you tell they are related?*

*Kristian is quite flexible...look at that high kick!*

*LOOOOVE this picture of Kristian's uncle. I laugh everytime I see it*

*My mother and her new son-in-law. All I can do is shake my head and laugh at this one*

*Doing the white man's overbite and point technique*

*Now we're talking*

*Breaking. It. Down.

*Laughing our asses off*

Last night we got the video that Kristian's friend Adam took on his phone of our first dance. Note his artistic style of turning the phone upside down. As I mentioned we did not choreograph a routine so this is probably fairly boring to watch but there are a couple dips and spins thrown in. Also, at the end Kristian does his infamous "YAY TEAM" which he yells anytime he's excited...including everyday when I get home from work.

It looks like everyone had a great time, and I love the picture of the two of you laughing! A couple of our elderly guests surprised us by really getting down, especially my bridesmaids’ grandmother!

THis is so very sweet. I love that you got such great photos of the dancing even though the dance floor wasn't totally packed. But you did in fact have a HUGE dance floor! And the video is so great. Not sure what he was doing with the turning upside down but whatever :) At least you got some different little moves thrown in there throughout. And his little yea team is so silly :)

So fun! I love that Kristian danced with you and had such fun doing it! That's my biggest disappointment (already, I know!) about my future nuptial celebration: my boyfriend doesn't dance! These are some great pictures!

I always love dancing at weddings... it takes me a while (or a few drinks) to get into it, but once I do... watch out!!

Looks like everyone had a blast!

And I FINALLY updated my out of date blog and added you to my blogroll. Sheesh! Took me long enough ;)
