Spring Cleaning

The weather has FINALLY started to warm up and by warm up I mean the 50's but after getting like 3 feet of snow this winter I'll take 50 degree weather.

In honor of the warm up and due to the fact that I've had a stuffy nose for the past month which I'm now convinced are allergies (I've never suffered from allergies before) we decided to do a massive clean on the condo yesterday. We got up and made our way to Lowe's to use a $50 gift card I had to buy a new vacuum. I don't even want to tell you how long it's been since we've vacuumed since our other one was broken. We also picked up a new mop and various other cleaning supplies.

We came home and spent about 3 hours cleaning the whole condo (though I still need to go thru all the wedding crap taking over the guest room). And God Bless Kristian who took on the more disgusting of the chores including changing AND washing out BOTH litter boxes, moping the laundry, bathroom and kitchen floors and cleaning out the refrigerator. I dusted the whole house, cleaned our bathroom, did the laundry, cleaned the kitchen including the stove and microwave and washed the windows. We jammed out to Bob Marley during the cleaning process.

The whole thing wasn't too bad and it was nice doing it together. Kristian is actually a much better cleaner than I am. Unfortunately I don't think the vacuuming and dusting has helped cure my stuffy nose but at least the house looks and smells much better.

Ugh, the litter box was the one thing I hated about having a cat. Thank goodness for S, I only had to clean it a couple of times. But I still shudder at the thought of having to deal.

I've got a TON of cleaning to do from all these days of being away from the home, I don't even know where to start right now :(

Hope you feel better soon!

The allergies could be outdoor allergies and then you're pretty much screwed until June, but a clean house never hurt anybody! Great job! I'm jealous.

I refuse to believe my congestion is allergies too!

Although being the the bf's bachelor pad isn't the greatest.. I keep meaning to take down his curtains to wash them because they are ummm... gross.

*note to self: take down curtains tonight and wash them!

=)

I hear you about the allergies! We went for run and walk down to Old Town yesterday and my nose was completed clogged for the rest of the night. Way to go on the cleaning!

Dave and i do this every once in a while. I like to call it deep cleaning and like you it takes 3 hours! But the result is always worth it.

Love that you jammed out to marley. Awesome!

Can Kristian come help me spring clean my house? My boyfriend cleans the outside and the garage, so the inside is all mine. I don't have litter boxes! :-)

I've been thinking it's getting close to time to do those "spring cleaning" things, like take down all my curtains and run them through the wash to get the dust out and vacuum all the blinds. Ugh, not looking forward to re-draping the living room.

You guys are good cleaning up. We really need to spring clean the crap outta our place - but I lack all motivation.

M did a massive spring clean yesterday too! I'm sharing in your allergies, girl. I know it's not a cold, but suddenly I'm so darn sneezy. We actually ended up getting 2 air purifiers and it has made a world of difference too!

Again, I totally relate to you on this. We have spent the last 2 to 3 weeks cleaning Mr Fix It's entire 3 bedroom 2 bathroom God forsaken disgusting bachelor pad in anticipation of my daughter and I moving in next month. On top of that, he has been renovating the master bathroom and kitchen and other areas for months now...so the entire house is covered in bugs, dust and all kinds of crap that make me not even want to step foot in that house! Thankfully, we have totally cleaned out almost all of the cabinets and closets, painted and relined them. We have been slowly going through Mr Fix It's barage of crap in that house to make room for my stuff. And Mr Fix It is closer to getting the renovations done...though I am not sure if they'll be fully finished by wedding day. Tonight is painting the master bedroom and I am hoping he will put new carpet in it before this weekend.

Props to you and Kristian for getting your house back in order...when it's all over, it's so worth it!
