SWW

This week I'm saying So What if:

-I've stayed up past my bedtime the last few nights reading Divergent. I'm about 70% done and I love it so far. I like it just as much if not more than The Hunger Games and I can't wait for the movie.

-I was disappointed that our overnight "ice storm" turned out to be mainly rain. I had hoped to stay home with Hunter today but ended up at work instead.

-I laugh everytime Hunter says "dump truck" (which is often) because it sounds just like "dumb f*ck".

-I teared up during a few of the Super Bowl commercials (the soldier coming home and horse and puppy ones).

-I seem to be one of the few people that did not like Orange is the New Black. Kristian and I finally watched the first episode of it over the weekend after hearing/reading rave reviews. And it was okay but not something either of us had much desire to keep watching. I just don't find prison shows (dramas or comedies) that appealing.

-When I went to Target over the weekend to buy a birthday present for Hunters friends birthday party I ended up also buying Hunter a new toy, even though he wasn't with me. It was only $5 and I knew he would love it (and he did). It's hard not to spoil him a bit.

-I'm not really that excited about the Winter Olympics. I prefer the summer games and I'm annoyed it's keeping some of my favorite shows on hiatus for another few weeks.

The winter games are irritating me too! No Greys or Parenthood until they are done!

I liked Orange is the New Black, but I'm with you that the first episode didn't do much for me.

If you decide to give it a second go, it does get better.

OITNB does get noticeably better. You get to know the other characters more, and I found Piper the weakest part of the show, and she's the main focus of the pilot. I really liked the book. It really got me thinking about prison and prison reform, just the cyclical position so many of those women are in.

I'm using the hiatus as a time to catch up, but we're more winter Olympics people than summer. That said, I wouldn't miss the Olympics at all if they never aired them. It's the rest of my house that loves them.

Let me know how you feel about that third Divergent book. That is the big reason why I haven't read past the second. Plus, the second gets so much more angsty and that turned me off. The first book was great, and I think the movie looks good though a rental unlike The Hunger Games.

I've been avoiding Target despite having gift cards. I know I'll have some trips there in the future, but I need a proper list or I'll go crazy, and I don't need that many things. Luckily, February is so busy I won't be able to visit until March at the earliest anyway.

Divergent is on my reading list, and I'm hoping to get a library or Kindle copy soon. Everyone I know who's read it has loved it!

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Divergent lately.. I think I will have to check it out!! I have never read anything like that but willing to give it a try.

I am not normally excited about the winter Olympics at all but this year my cousin-in-law (is that a thing?) is on the Great British curling team so I'll be watching and rooting for him! :)

We got sucked into Orange is the new Black. I liked it because it was one of the rare shows that my husband and I both could watch.
