Moxie Update

We have now had little Miss Moxie for almost a week and so far things are great. She seems to be adjusting really well and I think Kristian and I are adjusting well.

I must say having a puppy is great practice for a baby (though I know a baby will be MUCH more work). But having this little thing that needs constant attention and training has been a definite eye opener. Trying to work from home on Monday was a challenge because she kept whining or chewing at my feet when I was busy checking emails or trying to eat my lunch.

She's pretty much an attention whore and hates to be left alone. She LOVES to play and she loves people. All of our neighbors are already smitten with her and always come to see her when we are outside.

She responds to her name and comes when she's called. She's been sleeping through the night and only had to be taken out once around 3am on two different nights. However she's a little pee machine when she's awake and we have to take her out constantly or she will have an accident in the house. She had been trained to use the puppy papers before so training her to go outside has been a challenge but she's doing well.

Kristian has been taking her with him to work, he has a crate next to his desk for when he's in the office and he's able to take her with him on his sales calls and so far she's been doing well with that also.

The only issue we're having is her constant need to be chewing on something, preferably our hands or feet or magazine or clothes. Whenever she starts we'll give her a toy to chew on which helps but she's still a little chew monster.

Here are a few of the many pictures we've taken this past week.

Moxie is a true daddy's girl.

She also likes to sleep with her mama though.

She got her first bath this weekend and didn't seem too traumatized.

She loves to sleep. Check out that tongue!

And she made friend with big brother Wendal! Halpert is still on the fence about her.

The best part was this past weekend when I (yes I, not Kristian) taught her how to fetch. It didn't even take that long, she's a natural. Smartest puppy ever right?! We even took a video as proof for my in-laws who didn't quite believe us.

So cute! It's awesome she and Wendal are friends now, too. Hopefully, Halpert will come around!

She is so adorable!

Try putting the puppy pad outside on the grass since she is use to it. That will help her get used to going potty outside. After she gets the hang of that, take the pad away.

she's so stinkin' adorable! reading this post made me think of my boys as puppies. sadly chewing is a common problem. it usually fades unless your dog is like my omar.
