End of Week Odds and Ends

  • It's this time of year when I really wish I were a teacher, what I wouldn't give to have 2-3 months of summer vacation ahead of me right now.

  • On that note, I probably won't be taking any real vacation between now and December, not only do we need to save money but I need to save as much time as I can to put towards maternity leave.

  • My boss pointed out the other day that I'm starting to get a bump. I will probably need to go shopping soon for some more empire waist type shirts. **I've been taking weekly pictures but rather than post one every week I'll post a group of them together so you can really see the change.

  • After seeing the trailers for the Girl with Dragon Tattoo and Breaking Down movies, I'm so excited about this fall however I'm still the most excited to see The Hunger Games movie next spring.

  • Speaking of books I need some good summer reading suggestions, I've been mainly reading pregnancy/baby books but want to take a break for something a bit more mindless and fun for when I'm at the pool.

  • I'm also very excited about So You Think You Can Dance being back on, definitely my favorite summer show every year.

  • Since we will be turning our guest room into the baby's room we've decided to get rid of the desk (that we never use and that's falling apart) in our office and put a futon in there for people to sleep on when they visit. If anyone has any good suggestions let me know.

  • I've been incredibly lazy lately, I have absolutely no motivation to do much of anything other than lay on the couch which means my house is a mess and Kristian has had to break out his "emergency boxers" (which are boxers with The Simpsons on them, no lie) due to me not doing the laundry for two weeks (that is one of my chores, Kristian does a lot of other shit around the house). I can't wait to get my energy back.

  • My plan for this weekend (and most weekends this summer) is to lay out by the pool, read and relax. I love lazy summer days.

I can't wait to see pictures!

Don't worry about not keeping up with chores... the exhaustion gets overwhelming.

i think a group of preggo pics is better than weekly. that way can see it all at once instead of having to remember the previous week. i like the way your mind works.

have a good weekend doll! relax and take it easy. remember you are pregnant so you have a good excuse now ;)

I was JUST telling my coworker I have teacher envy this time of year. I could never do it though. I love kids, but can't teach for crap! :)

Don't worry about the 1st Tri lazy factor. You'll get your energy back...promise! For now enjoy those lazy days by the pool and don't feel one ounce of guilt! You are growing a human afterall!

Have you ever read any of Nora Roberts books? A friend gave me Vision in White to read in Vegas. I loved it. Easy pool read. It's a series of 4 and I can't wait to read the others!

Happy weekend!

Well, you'll have to eventually do the laundry, but the rest can fall behind because the nesting phase will come and you won't be able to clean enough.

I got away with not buying maternity clothes until the last trimester. I bought two bathing suit tops (but wore my bikini bottoms) and 2 pairs of pants and a dress for work. The rest of the time, I got away with the empire-waisted dresses that I still get to wear not pregnant. Being newly pregnant in the summer is nice. The Fall is hard because being short, it's annoying to spend all that money on maternity pants and then have to hem them. I got some hand-me-downs which helped a lot. Still have some if you're in need so let me know.

As for books, Jennifer Crusie's Maybe Next Time just came out in paperback. Sara Gruen's hit paperback (she wrote Water for Elephants or, if you haven't read that one, I'd recommend it). I'm reading Julia Quinn's Just Like Heaven which is historical romance. Well, technically, I'm reading another historical romance, The Care and Feeding of Pirates by Jennifer Ashley which is the third in her pirate trilogy, but it's only mediocre.

Nora Roberts book, The Search, from last year was supposed to be good. My friends gave her latest mixed reviews. They're her stand-alones so they're more intrigue than I care for. I generally stick with her straight romances or even her J.D. Robb books, but The Search had a doggy in it so I'm giving it a shot.

Have fun at the pool!

Ugghhh.... I am extremely exhausted too.. that is all I want to do is just go to bed and sleep all day!

As for the laundry that is how its been at our house too.. I am hoping that Chris will finally get motivated to do it.. because if he doesn't do it, it isn't getting done!!

Thanks for the advice too.. I am hoping that week 12 will vanish the all day sickness. =(
