Well yesterday he got a call from his buddy saying that he and a couple of his guy had a few hours free and wanted to see if we wanted them to come and do the front yard themselves. For free. Yes FREE! Now that's the kind of amount our bank account likes to see.
I was already working from home yesterday so the timing was perfect. The guys showed up and within about an hour our front yard was completely transformed and we didn't need to lift a finger! Our house no longer looks quite so sad and depressing from the front and we've already gotten a lot of compliments from the neighbors!
Below is a picture of the house when we bought it in February. Pretty dreary and sad right? We still need to replace the steps with new cement. Kristian plans to do that himself to save some money, hopefully before the end of the summer.
And VOILA!! Here it is after the transformation yesterday. Impressive huh?
Since I have a bit of a brown thumb I don't know the name of all the plants but I know we got a Japanese Maple, some kind of Cypress tree, Knockout Rose bushes and azaleas amongst other plants.
These are the rose bushes, I can't wait for them to start blooming.
I think everything looks amazing already and once things start to grow and fill in it will only get better. We are so grateful to Kristian's buddy for doing this for us and helping to make our house look so pretty and inviting.
If anyone in the DC Metro/NOVA area needs a landscaper let me know and I can send you his information. He's super nice and does a great job.
