13 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 13 weeks

Size of baby: According to babycenter.com the baby is about the size of a medium shrimp, according to thebump.com it's the size of a peach which I much prefer.

Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still no real weight gain though my belly is definitely growing.

Maternity Clothes: no maternity clothes but I am wearing a belly band with most of my pants and I've had to retire a number of shirts already.

Gender: don't know yet but we should find out the second week of August!! I can't wait!

Movement: Not yet.

What I miss: this week, not much.

Sleep: Is okay, still getting up a lot to pee but other than that it's gotten better.

Symptoms: Skin is still breaking out, apparently pregnancy causes you to regress into being a teenager again. Also, some headaches but I finally broke down and drank a diet coke the other night (oh the horror! Caffeine!!) and the headache went away.

Cravings: still craving lots of fruit! Good thing most of my favorite fruits are in season right now.

Best Moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat again at the doctor's appointment yesterday and being told everything looks good!

What I am looking forward to: Officially starting the second trimester next week and hopefully finding out the gender in 7 weeks!

Pregnancy acne is the worst! The first trimester and half of the second trimester were horrible for me, but now things have cleared up lots (still not like before...) so look forward to that!

I have the occasional D.C. too, my brother tried to tell me he learned (in high school) that having caffine might cause the baby to have extra limbs, I told him he needs to listen better in class ;-)

Skin breaking out is the worst. No one told me about that pregnancy sympton beforehand lol.
Glad everything seems to be going smoothly for you so far.

This is so fun! I am so excited for you girl and your little peach. I can't wait to hear if it's a boy or a girl. Yay for you guys. :)

Wow, I never realized pregnancy could cause acne to get worse! I still have it on occasion even without being pregnant, so I can only imagine what it will be like once I am! How exciting that you get to find out the gender in August!

Yay for almost being done with the 1st Tri! Even though it's technically should be the shortest since by the time you find out you're half way done, but it drug on forever!!

Comparing the baby to food makes grocery shopping fun. I remember when Laura was the size of a peppercorn and Rob and I would giggle all day.

I didn't get pregnancy acne. Just bruises and bloody noses, but I've never had much of a skin problem. That belly band is a lifesaver, yes? :) If you're like me, you won't need true maternity clothes until the end of the second trimester into the third trimester. I think I was at 7 months when I bought a dress for work and a couple of pairs of pants. Most were just sundresses. Got most of my stuff hand-me-down and Old Navy.
