Test Results

Prior to our invitation debacle from the weekend which I'm still pretty upset and bitter over (seriously I should have just sent out a damn e-vite!) we had our second pre-marital counseling session with Pastor Steve. We finally found out how we scored on our Relationship Inventory. I must admit I was nervous going into it. Not that I really thought we did poorly but you just never know with these things.

Well basically...we KICKED ass! Yep we got really high scores in all but one of the sections. There are 6 sections of the inventory and we scored 100% on the Social/Friends section, 90% on two other sections I think Communication and Sex (Bow Chicka Bow Wow), 80% on two sections which I think were Finances and Parenting/Family Relations and then the one section we scored the lowest on, 69%, was the Religion/Spirituality section. That doesn't surprise me since neither K nor I are overly religious. We both believe in God, Baby Jesus and Christmas but when you get into the nitty gritty details of things we don't talk too much about that stuff. Eventually we'll probably hit up a church or two and get our religion on.

Since we did so well we didn't really need to go over too much. There were a few questions in each section that we had differing answers on so we went over those and discussed why we answered differently. There was one question in the Sex portion that Pastor Steve said I was the only person he ever saw answer that particular question honestly. haha. Umm hello God is watching, I'm not gonna lie! It actually was really helpful going over some of this stuff and I think we both really benefitted from it.

Steve seems to think that we're in a good place with our relationship and expectations and that we actually remind him a lot of him and his wife!

After we finished with the questions he gave us some material to read over regarding the actual ceremony and the vows and whatnot. We just need to go thru that and decide what we want him to say and let him know. For the most part we plan to go the pretty traditional route so it shouldn't take too long to do.

yay! Glad that all worked out well :) Been meaning to tell you not to stress about the invites thing. They're beautiful regardless! Ours is on our fridge.

I’m glad it went so well for you! Now you can relax about it. :) Sorry you’re still upset about the invites. If I were in your shoes, I probably would be, too.

this is way more important than ink transferring on an invite anyway! Way to go! Congrats.

And seriously, those invites looked beautiful.

Woo hoo on passing the test! I remember being so nervous taking it for fear we'd fail. I don't know if we ever got our official score, but the priest married us so we must have done a-okay!

Go S and K!
I love that you won't lie to a pastor or to God :) That should bump you up an extra 10% at least, no?
