Why moms are the best

Kristian is now one week post surgery and he seems to be healing well though still in a lot of pain and not able to do a whole lot. Because of this I had my mom come down for the weekend to help out with Hunter while I ran some errands and took care of my husband. And also, because Hunter loves when nana comes to visit.

I really can't thank my mom enough for coming to visit, not only did she help entertain and watch Hunter while I got other stuff done but she did about 10 loads of laundry for us, cleaned out the cat litter box, sewed two holes I had in my shirts and helped tidy up the place. I told her many times she really didn't need to do any of that, I really just wanted her to enjoy her grandson and help keep him occupied but being the awesome mom she is she couldn't resist helping out in other ways. Just seems to be the nature of motherhood I suppose, always wanting to help your child no matter how old your child is.

We were all sad to see her go on Sunday. Hunter really enjoyed his nana time and I really enjoyed having an extra set of hands around the house (and also some mother/daughter time). We say all the time that if we ever win the lottery we're building/buying my mother property nearby so that she can visit more often. It gives me such joy to see my mother and my son have such a wonderful relationship.

That sounds so nice! There are many days I wish my mom was still around to do simple things like that (although I'm not trying to say coming to stay with you all for a week isn't simple). I'm glad Hunter got some time with his grandma and you were able to devote your time to caring for your husband.

Aw, that's sweet. My mom lives close but just far enough that we don't see each other often. I know she wishes she could see all of us more. It's great that Hunter has his grandmas though when so many kids don't have grandparents nowadays.

Moms really are the best! Mine just left today and while she was here, she would constantly be cleaning something or folding laundry or unloading the dishwasher. It was nice to have the help. More than anything, I loved watching her and C together.

It's so nice that your mom was able to come down and help, and that she and Hunter have a great relationship. My grandparents were very special to me growing up, and I hope my future kids will have a loving relationship with their grandparents, too. I hope your husband continues to heal and feels better!

That's so awesome... I really wish my mom lived closer (but my dad can stay in FL. I love him but we clash a lot)!

Moms really are the best! Isn't it amazing how willing they are do help you out in so many more ways than you ask. I don't know what I would do without mine.

That is so great she was able to help. Moms never stop being moms! I don't know what I'd do without mine.
