Eviction Notice

Well baby boy better start packing his bags because unless he decides to come on his own (please God!) he will be officially evicted from the womb on December 30th!!!!! At some point in the next 2 weeks and 2 days this child will be making his grand entrance into the world whether he likes it or not.

At my doctor's appointment yesterday (where I was only a fingertip dilated. Sigh.) he asked me my feelings towards being induced at some point, bearing in mind that no matter what they won't let me go more than 2 weeks past my due date. He said it was up to me how long I wanted to go before doing an induction though I could go as early as next week if I chose.

I decided that despite my discomfort I would rather he come on his own so I decided to wait until a few days past my due date, which is Dec. 26th, in the hopes he'll get his act together and decide to come on his own. I decided the 30th would be a good date otherwise. It gives a few days between his birthday and Christmas and it will still give me a two day window (in case I'm in labor for a long time) to get him out before the end of the year and therefore we can get the tax deduction (any little bit helps right?) It also happens to be the birthday of Kristian's favorite uncle so that would be kinda nice as well.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I won't need the induction, I've heard that typically it leads to more painful contractions and longer labors in general but in another two weeks I doubt I'll care anymore and will just want him out.

The countdown is now really, truly on!

Good luck sweetie. I'm with you on the inductions, but ultimately whatever happens, you will have your beautiful baby boy. Maybe y'all can try the "at home" techniques to get labor started! I'll be thinking of you!!! Can't wait for your new addition!!!

Aww man, there goes my vote in the baby pool! ;) Unless of course you get induced on the 30th and he doesn't make an appearnace until the 31st! HAHA. I wouldn't wish a long labor on my worst enemy though, so for your sake I'll pray he comes well before his eviction date!

As for an induced labor...I was pleastantly surprised. Granted I didn't have anything to compare it too, but I didn't think it was *that* bad!

Eeeek so excited!
I do know that when I was induced with Shelby she came a lot sooner than originally planned and it only took three pushes... yes, I said three pushes ;) So who knows this lil guy could be easy on you, too! Either way what an exciting time!

Good luck! I bet that made it all the more real. I was induced, the pain was intense but labor was very fast, 5 hours total from the start & for a first labor that is fast, hard labor was not long at all.

I really hope you get your wish and he comes on his own between now and then, but how exciting to know that he will be in your arms by New Year's Day either way!

Soooooo excited for you!!! Just think... any day now, you will have a little person living in your house. YOUR little person. How cool is that?!?!

My bday is the 31st so if he comes on the 30th, he'll be one day away from a pretty rad bday ;)

Can't wait to see when he decides to make his appearance!!!! Yayaya!!

Wow! So soon! Lindsay's due date was Dec 26th too. I was induced on Dec 17th though mostly because I didn't want a Christmas baby and my OB was going on vacation but also because I was 4 1/2 cm and contracting just not regularly.

Oh sweetie, he's almost here! Hopefully he doesn't come right on Christmas so you can enjoy your holiday, but whatever date he decides to make his arrival will sure be a special one! Take it easy and enjoy these last couple weeks with just you and your hubby!

So exciting now you have an actual date to work with. Hopefully you wont need the induction as ive also heard it makes labour worse!

Over here in the UK they wont induce you until 14 days after your due date, at the earliest, unless there is a medical reason for it so its a lot less certain! Means all I know is he will come sometime in the first two weeks in February (due 29th Jan)!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! That’s so neat were due so close together. I can’t believe it!! But I completely agree with wanting those few days between Christmas and baby’s birthday. My doctor actually gave us the option of this week or the 28th and I choose the 28th because I thought even though it’s still close a few days after is always better than a few days before. Best of luck and I look forward to following along :)
