Work has been a bit nuts and I haven't been sleeping well at all so I'm a bit of a walking zombie at the moment. I had to get up at 3 am last night to feed my cats who were jumping around the bedroom like assholes. F*ckers.
Some highlights of my weekend:
-Went to our favorite sushi restaurant for dinner Friday night. Followed by a trip to Lowe's (yes Lowe's on a Friday night, the exciting life of a married couple). We wanted to get ideas for the new house since we eventually want to update the kitchen and bathrooms. Too bad we don't have an extra $50K laying around to do what we want.
-Saturday we spent most of the day going from store to store on the hunt for a couch. We found one we both liked but it was out of our price range and WAY to big for our living room. Kristian- for the record- is far pickier than I am. So we are back to square one on the couch search but may go shopping again tonight at a place to close to us. It helps that we now have actual room measurements so we know what size to get.
-Sunday Kristian went to where he works to build a new stand for our turtle's tank using some leftover wood that his job had. Once it's stained I'll post pictures. We made some finger foods and watched the Super bowl and continued to pack some more.
This weekend will consist of more packing and shopping which seems to be the theme for February. Right now we're set to close on the house next Friday the 18th and plan to move all our furniture the weekend of the 26th.

3am feeding the cats? You have got to be kidding me! (been there though... ugh)
Sushi sounds so yummy right now. I love married dates no matter how mundane they may seem. I just came across your blog and can't wait to read more.
Mmm love sushi!
mmmm sushi, I'm jealous
Our cats are like that too sometimes so we started closing the door at night. Theyve gotten better about crying by the door.
How exciting!!! We close on our house on Tuesday, 2/15! So neat we are so close in closing dates :) I pray that everything goes well for you two! We're renting a townhome and will move the last weekend in February which will give us plenty of time to clean the new place and paint.
As soon as we're settled and moved in, we'll start the couch search too. We've heard a lot of good things about Haverty's furniture here in Florida so we'll check them out. Hope you're able to find one soon :)
Don't you hate when animals get you up early. Layla's new thing is waking me at 4-4:30ish staring at me and grunting at me just so I can give her permission to get up on the bed. SUPER ANNOYING!
Our kittens still have food available to them 24/7, so we don't have that issue yet. Not looking forward to it, though!
Aw, don't feel bad, we do Lowe's/Home Depot on Friday and Saturday nights too. :)
Wow, I cannot believe your closing is happening so soon! Good luck! (And good luck finding the couch too; I remember all that shopping very well!)
I went couch shopping this weekend too - it's so much fun to sit on all of them and find the most comfortable one! Good luck finding one for your living room! I can't wait to see more pictures of the new house once you guys move in!
I'm so excited that your closing is so close, hope the packing is going well. For me, furniture shopping was fun for a few hours, then I just wanted the job done and the furniture to magically appear in our house...
"exciting life of a married couple..."
more like the exciting life of home owners. when dave and i bought our place, we literally lived at home depot. friggen love that store! btw sushi sounds so good right now.
