Anti Rain Dance

So I'm asking for all my friends out there in Blogland to start doing an anti-rain dance for me. All weekend it showed this Saturday as being beautiful, only partly cloudy, low 80's with only a 20% chance of rain. NOW it's showing a 60% chance of thunderstorms and only 74 degrees. And this is now on weather.com. WTF?! I know the weather could and probably will change a million times between now and then but it's pissing me off. Yes we have a rain plan but I don't want to use the rain plan!

And to top it off I checked the weather for next week in St. Lucia and it shows showers everyday! Not Isolated Thunderstorms that will just pop up in the afternoon like in most warm climates but full on showers, 60% chance, EVERYDAY! What's the point of flying all the way to a Caribbean island and having my brother spend all that money if it's just going to rain everyday?! Looks like the 3 super cute bikini's I bought won't be getting much use.

To add to my stress level, I'm not a big fan of my hair right now. I dyed it this weekend so that it would be a nice shiny dark brown rather than a dull mousy medium brown and despite the fact that I dye my hair every few months this time it decided to suck up all the color and now it's basically black. Fantastic. Honestly it doesn't look horrible, the dye job itself is good it's just VERY dark and now the clip in hair extension I bought don't match. I've been washing my hair like crazy trying to get it fade. Does anyone have any tips for making it fade faster? I just want it a shade or two lighter but I'm afraid to do anything drastic and have it turn red or something.

So far this week isn't getting off to the best start, the only upside is I only have two more days of work before I'm out for two weeks.

Breathe! It will be okay. Promise. And I'll start praying now! Your hair should lighten a little as the week goes on. Wash it a lot! And in the mean time, I'll be doing the no rain, lighter hair dance!

okay lady, calm down. everything will be alright. and if it rains on your big day, don't worry. it won't ruin it. believe me! i've been to a rained in wedding before and it was fab! also been to a wedding where it was supposed to rain but miraculously the clouds parted when they said i do. swear!

as for your hair, did you use perm or semi-perm? if semi-perm, it will fade on its own. if not, try washing your hair with dish soap. this advice comes straight from my hair dresser friend. guess dish soap is rough which helps fade color.

Hang in there, girl! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you about the rain and your hair. I think you should keep up what you’re doing by washing it a lot, or maybe head to a salon to see whether they can add any lighter highlights or coloring to help tone down the darkness. Just in case it doesn’t lighten enough, is it possible that you can exchange the clip-ins for a darker shade?

Everything will work out. All these little stress points will just be part of your wedding story. If everything went perfectly, the story would be boring.

Deep breaths!

Keeping my fingers crossed that the rain goes away, mostly for the honeymoon, which I'm sure is going to be great. The weather in the Caribbean is so finicky. When I cruised down there, I saw similar forecasts, but every day we were there was great! One day, one one island, it was cloudy, but no rain. So it will be fine.

And the wedding is going to be beautiful, and so are you! Your hair should lighten with each washing, I would think.

I can't believe you're getting married on Saturday! Eek!

wow. Take a deep breath and think happy thoughts! Even if it does rain, that wont be the part you remember about all your wedding! And you have an excuse for everyone to wait on you hand and foot, get things from the car for you, etc. AND you have an excuse to spend lots of quality time together on the honeymoon!
Praying for the rain to go away and the hair to lighten!!! Your day will be beautiful!

I'll pray for you but the best thing to do is NOT WORRY! I know that sounds impossible, but forecasts change and you'll make yourself nuts stressing over things you can't control. Just enjoy the excitement and attention!!

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for no rain! Good luck with everything, I'm sure it will all turn out fine in the end and you will be looking back thinking about how crazy it was that you were so stressed out.

Congratulations!

Okay, so here's the plan. Spanky & I are pretty darn good dancing around a fire and casting out bad spirits, and negativity. Well...its worked once and we've only done it once. So, we're one for one. And she'll be here tomorrow. So I think we'll light the fire, put on our dancing shoes and make up some ridiculous chant. And if it doesn't work, it will make a good story, right.

I concur with Melissa. The last time I did a dance, chanted, and wished something away it was very effective. We'll do one tomorrow!

Anti-rain dance it is. Will get Mr. Milk into the mix too! Hang in there! And keep in mind that most of the time, they have it wrong.

Doing the anti rain dance while I type this!

But you know, worst case, umbrellas and cute rubber boots make for AWESOME photos. And when the sky is overcast the light is beautiful.

Hair dye trick - dandruff shampoo. It usually does the trick. Best of luck x

Don't worry if your clip in extensions don't match perfectly...you can do one of two things:

1) Leave them different so they appear as highlights - totally works :)
2) Dye them with the same thing to match your hair...that's what I did with mine. :)

I'm sure you'll look fabulous.
