Five on Friday

1. This has basically been the week from hell work-wise and I couldn't be happier it's Friday. It's not only me, but everyone in my office has been having a bad week with projects having problems.

2. It took 22 1/2 months but Hunter did his first projectile puke on me last night (real puke, not like baby spit-up). I think we are both traumatized from it. Fortunately it was the only time he puked, he slept fine and seemed back to normal this morning so I'm hoping it was fluke thing due to something he ate and not a real stomach bug that I will end up getting.

3. I just found out one of my besties is moving back to the area next month and I couldn't be more thrilled. I've missed her and now I will be able to get some more quality girl time and she can spend more time with Hunter.

4. On Monday I made "deer-ghetti" or spaghetti with deer meat sauce. It was amazing and probably some of the best spaghetti I've ever eaten. I'm definitely a hunter's wife.

5. This morning I had my annual check-up with my lady parts doctor. It feels weird going there when I'm not pregnant. I'm also excited that they have two new female doctors at the practice (before it was only men) and as much as I loved the doctor that delivered Hunter I've always prefer female doctors.

SWW

 Life After I Dew

This week I'm saying SO What if:

-The last few nights, including the weekend I was in bed by 9pm. Now that it's dark out when I get home from work it just makes me so tired and ready for bed as soon as I walk in the door. Also, work has been so busy I'm just ready to crash as soon as Hunter is in bed.

-I love the fact that there is a little girl in Hunters class that has a crush on him. Every morning as soon as we get there she immediately finds "his" truck (there is one truck in particular there that he LOVES to play with) and brings it over to him. EVERY. MORNING. Even the teacher thinks she has a crush on him because she doesn't do that to anyone else and she tries to play with Hunter all day. Such a heartbreaker already.

-I have to make a Christmas wishlist for my mom and I have no idea what to put on it. All the smaller items I just buy for myself throughout the year and I feel bad asking for bigger, expensive things.

-One of the things I really want for Christmas is a treadmill. Yep a treadmill. I need to start getting more exercise and staying healthy and it's too damn cold to walk or run outside. Plus I would probably have to use it at like 5:30am. Biggest issue is we really have no room for one anywhere.

-Unlike seemingly every other mother on the planet, drinking wine doesn't really relax me if I'm stressed out. Xanax, however, is wonderful.

-It really pisses me off that stores are now opening on Thanksgiving night. I feel just awful for those employees that have to leave their families and go to work but I hope they are at least getting paid extra. Also, I refuse to do any shopping on Thanksgiving. Respect the damn turkey!

-I'm already mentally spending mine and Kristian's Christmas bonuses this year. We both know we're getting one we just don't know how much. Praying for a lot.

Into the Woods

One of our favorite things to do on the weekends is take a walk through the woods behind our house and go down by the water. Hunter LOVES the woods. He runs up and down the path, picking up sticks and rocks and pointing at everything asking THIS? THIS? He definitely inherited his love of the outdoors from his father.

This past weekend the weather was pretty nice so we decided to take a walk in the woods and check out all the leaves. Hunter got his first experience with jumping in piles of leaves and he loved every minute of it. Hearing his squeals of laughter is hands down one of the best sounds I've ever heard. And watching him and his daddy play and explore together basically makes my heart melt.

Five on Friday

1. I couldn't be happier that it's Friday. This week has been crazy at work and I am just DONE. I'm mentally exhausted and just tired. The fact that I get to leave early this afternoon to go to the dentist to get a cavity filled is actually something I'm looking forward to. You know work is bad when you would rather go get a cavity filled.

2. I definitely jinxed myself the other day, about 10 minutes after emailing a client to tell him that everything was going smoothly on a project (a project where things tend to turn into a nightmare) he writes back to tell me we have a big issue. Yep definitely jinxed us.

3. I've cut back quite a bit on eating fast food in the hopes that eating healthier will help my stomach issues but last night Kristian was off hunting and I didn't want to cook so on the way home from picking up Hunter at daycare I got Wendy's...and proceeded to feel sick the rest of the night. Lesson learned. I can't eat that shit anymore.

4. I spent all week trying to figure out how to change the time on the clock in my new car for DST. I finally had my co-worker come help me and he literally pushed one button and it was done.

5. I get to work from home the next two Monday's and I'm thrilled. Even though I'm still having to do work on my laptop it feels like a 3 day vacation because I don't have my hour long commute and I can get some stuff done around the house in between checking emails. Oh and I can wear my pj's all day long.

This week I'm saying So What if:

-I can't wait for it to be January. This is my busiest, most stressful time of year at work and I may lose my mind sooner rather than later.

-It's a good thing that a computer separates me from several people I have to work with or I would possibly do bodily harm to a few of them.

-I wish I could pay every person/bill that really annoys me all in pennies just to be a bitch. Hey it counts as money.

-I haven't bought or even thought about buying Christmas presents yet.

-The thought of decorating for Christmas makes me tired.

-I don't get the excitement over the red Starbucks cups or the need for everyone to post pictures of them. I do however, get the excitement over the Caramel Brulee Lattes. Those rock my socks off.

- Hunter only got a few pieces of his Halloween candy. Kristian and I ate the rest.

-I was happily surprised that DST didn't mess up Hunters sleep at all over the weekend, in fact he slept til 7am (or what would have been 8am) which is even later than normal. We were thrilled!

Family Photos 2013

Once again my friend and sorority big sister Laura took some family photos for us this year. She also did my maternity pictures, Hunters newborn photos and our family photos last year and she always does a fantastic job. If you live in Northern VA and need a photographer check out her Facebook page.

Taking photos with a wild, active toddler during their typical fussy time of day is definitely a challenge. Both Kristian and I got frustrated but Laura always kept her cool. I left feeling frustrated that we probably didn't get any good pictures but Laura worked her magic and was able to get a good amount of cute shots, so now I have some to frame, give to the grandparents and for our Christmas cards. Hopefully next year he's better able to understand the concept of standing still for a picture.

No Tricks but lots of treats

Last night was Hunters first real experience with trick or treating. Last year doesn't count because we just carried him to a few of our neighbors houses to show off his costume. He didn't really know what Halloween or trick or treating was about so I figured the whole thing could be pretty hit or miss.

First let's start with his costume.

Here's my Hunter dressed as a hunter!!
As I mentioned everything for his costume could be worn/used again. In fact he had the t-shirt, hoodie and pants already. I just had to buy him the hat and the bow which I found in the toy section at Walmart.

Of course he didn't want to carry the bow with him or even wear it on his shoulder so that part was a bust but at least he wore his orange hat all night and with my child that is a win. Also, his daddy painted his face so he would really be camouflaged.

Things started off rough, Hunter had a total meltdown before we even got outside and then he didn't want to carry his bucket or go up to any houses. Again, this is because he doesn't know how to trick or treat. The good thing was that we met up with our neighbors so he was able to go with his two buddies, the older boy Zachary knows how to trick or treat and after watching him carry his bucket and go up to houses Hunter figured it out and became a pro.

It was really warm last night, one of the warmest Halloweens I remember. Oh and it started sprinkling while we were out but it didn't ruin our good time.

Following his girlfriend Jordynn the Strawberry.

After watching his buddy Zachary he knew just what to do.

He would actually say "trick or treat" 50% of the time. Several times he just went up to the person and said "More, please" which made everyone laugh. He would also try to bite into the candy as soon as he got it, wrapper and all.

The hunter and the strawberry.

Kristian stayed at the house to hand out candy but he was thrilled to see the stash that we brought home. Hunters bucket was so heavy by the end he was dragging it behind him (he wouldn't let mommy hold it). We only went to two streets but I guess when you're a cute toddler you get more!

We'll be eating this all weekend.

Oh and I can't forget to show off my husbands mad pumpkin carving skills.

I was very proud of how Hunter did once he got the hang of it. He had a blast and I think next year will be even more fun.
